Over the past decade, we are changing the way we think about IQ. We perceive the emotional intelligence as the more valuable factor. People with high emotional intelligence are happier, having better relationships and succeed more. The personal and social competencies make them stronger. The best thing about EQ is that no matter your age you can work on it and increase your EQ.
In order to know how to control our emotions, at first we have to be aware of them. When you understand your own emotions, you see how they affect your life. The relation between what you feel and how you behave is clearer. It helps to keep the distance to yourself and other’s criticism. We are more confident, because we know what’s our strength and what’s our limit. Awareness of our own values and goals gives us the right direction.
Awareness of our own emotions is a first step to control them. We do not act impulsive, showing the anger and the stress. Instead, we keep the balance and take the responsibility. The mind is flexible and easily adapt new situations, environments and facts.
Motivation is all about being optimistic and persistent. Never give up. No matter how many obstacles are on your way, you know that you will one day do it. The determination to get new scores and better results is on the way to the perfection. We engage with others and connect same goals. Motivations let us being enterprising and using encountered chances.
Understanding the feelings of others and caring about them is very important for emotional intelligence. We can imagine ourself in someone’s position and understand their emotions. Interpreting well what others want to improve in themselves and motivation to help them. It is also the understanding that only in the diverse world you can grow fast.
This is a very important skill in order to become a leader. The leader know how to influence others and inspire them. The other point – what is even more important – is listening without any prejudice and easily resolving conflicts. You can initiate changes and effortlessly make friends. The real leader likes to cooperate with others to achieve a common goal.
